Seit Anfang 2005 besteht ein Projekt im Dorf Farraum, Thantlang Township, Chin-Staat. Die hiesige Schule bietet Grund-, Mittel- und Oberschulunterricht an und besteht aus drei Geb\u00e4uden, die seit 1950 genutzt werden und aufgrund des Materials (Kiefernholz) und des nicht vorhandenen Wetterschutzes bauf\u00e4llig sind. Ein Ausfall des Unterrichts w\u00fcrde nicht nur die 570 Sch\u00fcler aus 9 D\u00f6rfern treffen, sondern die gesamte soziale Entwicklung der Region (ca. 1.500 Haushalte mit 10.000 Einwohnern) negativ beeinflussen: im Umkreis von 20 Meilen gibt kein vergleichbares Angebot, und die Verkehrsverbindungen im Chin-Staat sind in sehr schlechtem Zustand. Bildung ist fast der einzige Weg f\u00fcr die Bewohner, mit der gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung Schritt zu halten und soziale Chancen zu haben.

Projekt<\/strong>
Das Dorf hat 2000 begonnen, neue Geb\u00e4ude zu planen. Im Jahre 2002 wurde mit dem Bau eines ersten neuen Geb\u00e4udes begonnen, und seit Januar 2005 ist Burma Projekt e.V. Berlin an dem Projekt beteiligt. Das erste Geb\u00e4ude wird mit geeignetem und lokal verf\u00fcgbarem Material (Ziegel, Teakholz, Zink) fertiggestellt und ein zweites neu errichtet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00fcr die Planung und \u00dcberwachung wurden auf d\u00f6rflicher Ebene zwei Gremien gebildet, ein technischer Bauausschu\u00df und ein Finanzierungsausschu\u00df. Seitens Burma Projekt e.V. Berlin hat sich U Khin Maung Yin im Mai 2005 \u00fcber das Projekt informiert, au\u00dferdem bestehen Kontakte auf telefonischer, postalischer Ebene sowie \u00fcber unseren Repr\u00e4sentanten in Burma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kontrolle<\/strong>
Von deutscher Seite tragen Burma Projekt e.V. Berlin und die Stiftung Umverteilen die finanzielle Hauptlast des Projektes. Der Anteil des Dorfes besteht in Arbeits- und Transportleistungen. Partner sind neben der PTA die Baptistische Kirche sowie die Dorfverwaltung (Peace and Development Council).
